David Grigg Consulting Technology counsel, since 1998

Madison, Wisconsin

Twenty-seven years spent making technology someone else's problem — so it can stop being yours.

David Grigg has advised small businesses, schools, and nonprofits across Southern Wisconsin since 1998. The practice today is smaller and more selective by design: a limited number of engagements, taken on by referral, with the full attention of one person who has already solved most of the problems you're facing.

Request an introduction

I started this practice in 1998 with my wife, Joyce Grigg, back when "the network" usually meant a handful of desks and a single stubborn server. I've spent the years since helping small businesses and organizations — school districts, churches, nonprofits, family-owned companies — get technology decisions right the first time, without a large firm's overhead or its rotating cast of junior staff.

The practice looks different now. Joyce has since retired. I no longer take on every project that comes my way. What I offer instead is my direct, undivided attention on a small number of engagements at a time — the kind where three decades of pattern-matching actually make a difference, and where a client wants to talk to the person doing the work, not a salesperson standing in front of one.

Technology strategy & assessment

An outside, vendor-neutral read on what you actually need — and, just as often, what you can skip.

Network & infrastructure

Design, installation, and quiet upkeep of the systems your business depends on every day.

Security & continuity

Practical protection sized to a small organization — firewalls, safeguards, and a plan for when something goes wrong.

Connectivity & communication

Internet, email, and voice/data planning that holds up as an organization grows or changes.

Web presence

Sites built around how a small organization actually tells its story, not a template it has to fit into.

Implementation & setup

Hands-on workstation setup, equipment assessment, and the unglamorous work of getting it all running.

  1. 1

    A brief introduction

Send a short note through the form below. A referral or a specific problem to solve helps, but isn't required.

  2. 2

    A direct conversation

David reads every message personally and, if it looks like a good fit, will reply to arrange a call.

  3. 3

    A scoped decision

Given the practice's limited capacity, not every inquiry becomes an engagement — but every one gets a straight answer.

The practice is currently taking on a small number of new clients, by referral or introduction.

There's no public phone line or inbox listed here on purpose — messages sent through this form go directly and only to David.
